Subject:Help needed with seals and inscriptions
Posted By: Chandra Sat, Mar 03, 2018 IP: 161.142.107.195

I’ve been collecting Asian art for quite some time now simply going by what I like and without consideration for provenance or artist. A recent query here which elicited a response from I. Nagy has, however, changed all that and made me want to discover more about the paintings in my collection. Can anyone shed some light on these works?

1) would appreciate help in identifying/translating the artist’s seal and inscription (the seal imprint is very weak)

2) help needed with identifying artist's seal. is it an imitation of a more famous artist's style?

3) would really appreciate any information that can be provided on this woodcut print. it bears only a typewritten place-n-date inscription. no artist's seal.

Thank you so much, Mr Nagy. Your help has been invaluable for someone like me who has an extremely limited knowledge of Chinese art. I will take up the clues you have provided and try and flesh out further details.

With much gratitude,
Chandra
