Reading and translation of poem,
The moon sinks,, the night crow caws
The sign of frost fills the sky
The riverside maples and fishermen's
ligts facing me in my worried sleep
The sound of bell from Hanshan temple, ouside of Gusu City, reaches the passanger ships
The above text is from the very famous poem of the Tang dynasty poet Zhang Ji (張繼）with the title
"Maple Bridge Night Mooring" (楓橋夜泊）
畢瀧 - Bi Long (or Bi Shuang)
畢瀧審定 - Approved by Bi Long (Bi Shuang)
Bi Long (Bi Shuang) Year of birth unknown/ died in 1797. Poet, calligrapher, landscape painter
and art collector of Qing period.
From the screen the scroll does not look over 200 years old.
